How BSR Can Help You

How BSR Can Help You

Mechanical stress

The body is built to tolerate a certain amount of physical force, but if the stress goes beyond our tolerance levels, the effects may be stored as body stress. The causes may be sudden e.g. a car accident. Or, there may be an accumulation of milder stress, e.g. sitting incorrectly.

Emotional stress

This can stem from financial worries, work pressure, or family challenges. Sudden emotions like anger or shock, or ongoing strain such as anxiety or depression, affect the body physically, causing symptoms such as headaches, tight jaw, poor sleep and digestive issues.

Chemical stress

Our bodies face daily chemical exposure—pollutants, cleaning products, medications, and certain foods. While designed to process these, constant overload reduces adaptability and creates stored stress. This quietly impacts energy, digestion, and wellbeing, weakening the body's ability to cope with other stresses over time.

how it works

What is Body Stress?

Cause

The body has an amazing ability to adapt to this, but when the stress load becomes too great, the body can reach a point of overload. At this stage, muscles adopt a protective response, tightening around the affected area. This tension can place pressure on nerves, disrupting communication with the brain. When this communication is reduced, the brain is less able to address the stressed area, and the tension may become "locked in" to the physical structure of the body.

BSR Technique

BSR uses a light, precise stimulus to guide the body in releasing this stored tension and restoring communication with the brain, allowing the body’s natural self-healing processes to resume. The technique focuses primarily on the spinal area, as it is the central pathway from which all nerves branch out. By working in this key area, Body Stress Release not only addresses tension along the spine but also supports the proper functioning of the entire body through its peripheral connections. As the muscles release and balance returns, sensation and flexibility are gradually restored.

Body Stress Release

“When normal stresses and strains reach the point of overload, tension may become locked into the body’s physical structures. Over time this accumulative progression of body stress exerts pressure on the spinal nerves and may result in pain, numbness, muscle weakness, stiffness, distorted posture and impaired functioning.”

Symptoms

Body Stress Symptoms

Body Stress Release provides a wide range of benefits by gently releasing stored tension in the body.

This natural, non-invasive technique promotes relaxation, eases pain, and restores freedom of movement. Many people experience improved posture, greater flexibility, and an enhanced sense of wellbeing. By reducing the impact of stress on the nervous system, BSR can also support relief from anxiety, fatigue, and the effects of everyday pressure.

Your first consultation

At your initial visit, we begin by taking a detailed case history. This includes past accidents, injuries, operations, and your current concerns. Following this, a gentle body stress assessment is carried out. A series of light, precise releases are then performed, sending a clear sequence of messages to the brain and encouraging the body’s natural self-healing response. The technique is never forceful – the body responds best to a subtle, accurate stimulus.
